This quiet, beach neighborhood overlooks San Clemente State Beach known for its white sand beaches, eucalyptus trees, and native plant life. Surfing is a short walk to Calafia Beach, 'T' Street, Riviera District, and a bit further is the pier and Trestles (the world-class surfing beach, home to numerous surf competitions). A short bike ride takes you to town, where antique shops, one-off apparel retailers, art galleries filled with local prize-winning art, and fine or casual dining abound.

Throughout the tourist season San Clemente comes alive with special events to entertain just about every interest. First Sunday of the month, the town's main street is closed for an arts and crafts show and every Sunday morning local fresh produce, flowers, and bakery vendors display their goods. Last Thursday of each month is Art Walk. Local artists line the sidewalks of Avenida Del Mar with easels of original art, and downtown restaurants and art galleries serve free wine tasting and hors d'ouevres to visitors.
